Multiple medical colleges will soon conduct their own entrance exams. But one question still remains; will the Apex Court of India green light the validity of Maharashtra Health and Technical Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) 2016 for medicos? It is anybody’s guess.
MHT CET 2016 was smoothly conducted as scheduled on 5th May 2016 across Maharashtra. This entrance exam was held by the Government of Maharashtra, State Common Entrance Test Cell. Earlier this year, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) was made mandatory for all medical aspirants by the Supreme Court of India. This particular exam which took place on 1st May 2016 made headlines in the Indian educational system. Students complained that it was lengthy and 40% of the paper was very tough. Some students and parents alike are concerned about the negative marking that prevails in NEET.
While most experts opine that MHT CET 2016 cannot be scrapped as not only MBBS aspirants, but B.U.M.S ad B.A.M.S aspirants too rely on MHT CET 2016, some suggest that the students must apply for other entrance exams too, in order to secure a medical seat. Parents and students are left alarmed and raged by this action. Some fear that MHT CET 2016 may be declared valid only for seats in governmental colleges and not private colleges.
Whatever the verdict may be, students must not lose hope and stay optimistic. They should not forget to keep track of MHT CET important dates like the submission of certificates and documents up until 16th May 2016 and so on so forth.
Remember to keep calm and be positive.
